About Us
We are three siblings based near Columbus, MS. Together, we comprise the Sumic Trio. Continue reading below to find out a little bit about each of us!
Lucy Sandifer
Lucy was trained by Diane Ford, Salvatore Guerra, and Jenny Gregoire. She is a member of the Meridian Symphony Orchestra, the Starkville/MSU Symphony Orchestra, and the Fairview Baptist Church Orchestra. She also frequently plays with the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra. Also, Lucy assists with the Columbus Suzuki String Youth Orchestra and Ensemble. She has served as concertmaster of the Belhaven College Invitational All-State Orchestra in Jackson and has won fiddle competitions in Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, and Athens, Alabama. Lucy also plays mandolin and guitar. She currently teaches students out of her private studio.
Laura Sandifer
Laura has studied under Diane Ford, Salvatore Guerra, and Jenny Gregoire. She is a member of the Meridian Symphony Orchestra, the Starkville/MSU Symphony Orchestra, and the Fairview Baptist Church Orchestra. She currently plays with the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra as well. Twice, she was associate concertmaster of the Belhaven College Invitational All-State Orchestra in Jackson. She enjoys assisting with the Columbus Suzuki String Youth Orchestra and Ensemble. She has won fiddle competitions in Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, and Athens, Alabama. Laura teaches violin students in her private studio.
Scott Sandifer
Scott has played the cello for 9 years. He has played with the Starkville/MSU Symphony Orchestra, the Fairview Baptist Church Orchestra, and is a member of the local Suzuki String Orchestra. Scott also was principal cellist in the Belhaven College Invitational All-State Orchestra. Scott and his sisters provided music for over 50 weddings and events last year.
